Manchester City players questioned Pep Guardiola about his tactics after Spurs defeat

Pep Guardiola tactics in their defeat to Tottenham Hotspur on Sunday was questioned by his players according to Daily Mail.

It is reported that some players complained to Guardiola during that he tinkers with his team selection too much with records showing that the Spaniard has thus far made 76 changes to his team in the Premier League this season; this being more than any other manager in the division.

Chelsea’s Frank Lampard is second with 60, Liverpool boss Jürgen Klopp has made 46 and Leicester’s Brendan Rodgers follows closely behind with 44.

Guardiola has failed to pick the same starting XI for consecutive matches all season and he reportedly took the criticism he received from his players on board after the Spurs defeat.

Guardiola and City will hope that the inquest result replicates that of last season where the players staged one after their defeat away at Newcastle late January as they ultimately pipped Liverpool to the title by one point.

The Spurs loss was City’s sixth of the season a result that leaves them 22 points behind leaders Liverpool.
