Togolese Football Federation (TFF) on Tuesday announced that the local league will be suspended to allow the national focus on African Nations Championships preparation.
The federation announced the move in a press statement sent to media on Tuesday evening.
"After the 22nd match day, the first division national championships of the season 2019-2020 will have a suspension and will resume after the return of the national team of CHAN ", it read in part.
The Championnat National de Premiere Division is the top football league in Togo. It's currently in 14th round with ASKO leading the 14-team log with 27 points. It will break after the 22nd match day set for March 8.
Meanwhile, there are reports that CAF is considering cancelling CHAN 2020 that is set to take place from Apri 4 to 25 in Cameroon. The draw of the tournament is yet to be done.
