Giroud urges Chelsea teammates to believe in Bayern comeback

Chelsea FC players should believe in a comeback against Bayern Munich this according to striker Olivier Giroud.

The English Premier League side suffered a 3-0 loss in the first leg of the tie at Stamford Bridge on Tuesday but Giroud-who admitted it will be almost impossible to turn the tie around- believes his team can score three goals in the second leg slated for Munich on March 18.

"It's going to be almost impossible but we need to go there with belief and to believe that we are going to score. You never know you know.

"They scored three goals here and if we score three and don't concede, you know. I'm not joking. We have nothing to lose and we're going to play our game with more," Giroud said.

Chelsea was undone by a Serge Gnabry double and Giroud was happy for the attacker who he spent time with at Arsenal.

"I played with him at Arsenal. At 16, he was not mature enough but obviously at 16 nobody is. But the way he improved is amazing and he is doing so well since the last two or three years now. I'm happy for him because he deserves it and he's a good guy who has worked a lot.

"He's been very good tonight also, so it's good for him and we need to bounce back on Saturday. It's very disappointing today, but I understand sometimes you try but they were too good for us," the Frenchman added.

In the second leg, Chelsea will have to do without the services of defender Marcos Alonso who was sent off in the second half.
