Former Everton star Tim Cahill believes Chelsea youngster Mason Mount will be a world-class player in the near future.
The 21-year-old has had quite an impressive first Premier League season with the London club under Frank Lampard and seems to have caught the eye of the Australian.
In an interview with Sky Sports, Cahil picked Mount when asked about the best young player in the Premier League.
"I like the look of Mason Mount. I think he's a top goalscorer and he's got a massive career ahead of him,’ added Cahill of the 21-year-old," he said.
"One of the reasons why I like him a lot is because of his coach [Frank Lampard] and the way that he's trying to mould a player similar to himself. He can lead him and show him the right ways.
"You can see that starting to come to fruition with his football this season. I'm a big fan,"
Mount has six goals and five assists this season, an impressive figure considering his age and the fact that it's his first season with the senior team.
He last scored against Tim Cahill's former club Everton, before the Coronavirus led to the suspension of action across the globe.
