Ayub Timbe keen on extending Reading stay

Harambee Stars winger Ayub Timbe is keen on extending his stay in England with Championship side Reading FC.

Timbe joined Reading in January in a six-month loan deal from Chinese side Beijing Rehne but the global outbreak of coronavirus has seen the league suspended; the winger admitting that they were already in talks with the club to extend his stay.

"I like what's going on. My contract was to end in June but we are in talks with the club for an extension. I have been taken aback with everything here and I don't want to leave that behind," Timbe is quoted by PD.

Timbe has just managed two appearances for his side but feels that the level of professionalism in the club is shaping him into a better player.

"It's totally a new experience. People here are more professional and they are much more ahead. It's about handling the team's goals. The mentality is great and the level of concentration in games from minute one to the last is on another level," Timbe added.

Timbe has been one of the bright lights in the Harambee Stars team having started his career in Belgium as a teenager. He was part of the Stars team that represented Kenya in the 2019 AFCON.
