Scottish Premiership side Rangers have officially begun talks to sign up and coming star Tony Weston according to reports from Football Insider.
Weston who is turning 17 in September has made his senior team debut at Blackpool and now reports claim that Rangers are eager to sign him as soon as the League One season concludes.
It remains unknown for now if the English third division are planning to resume their season due to the coronavirus pandemic.
The teenager joined Blackpool in his early years and has gone to win several Player of the Year awards for his stellar performances.
He made his debut off the bench in an FA Cup match back in January 2020 and continues to be involved in first-team training sessions.
Weston, however, cannot be handed a professional contract with his current club until he turns seventeen in September.
Scottish rules differ on the other end as they are allowed to sign youngsters from the age of 16 and they can go on to feature for the senior teams.
Rangers tied Leon King to a professional deal early this year and there's no doubt they will be pushing for the same to happen with Weston.
