Manchester United manager Ole Gunnar Solskjaer has given an injury update on defender Victor Lindelof.
The Swede left the field at half-time to be replaced by Eric Bailly at the beginning of the second half in Manchester United’s 5-2 win over Bournemouth on Saturday and according to Solskjaer, the player had a back problem.
“Victor felt his back. So there was no need to take any risks, but Eric's fine. He's got his game, 45 minutes, played against Norwich, played against West Brom [in a friendly at Old Trafford before the Premier League's resumption], so he'll be fine playing.”,” the Norwegian said to MUTV after the game.
Lindelof has been a key figure in the United team and has been the preferred partner to captain Harry Maguire at the heart of the defence and Solskjaer will hope that he can be first ahead of the next game against Aston Villa.
Apart from Lindelof, the center back position has been deprived of the services of Phil Jones and Axel Tuanzebe who have been hit by injuries.
Struggling Villa has taken just two points from their four Premier League games since the restart and is away to Liverpool on Sunday.
Victories for Leicester City and Chelsea on Saturday means we remain fifth with five games to go, two and three points behind the two sides directly above us, in the Champions League places.
