Manchester City coach Pep Guardiola has hailed Liverpool's new signing Thiago Alcantara after the midfielder completed his switch from Bayern Munich.
Alcantara played for Guardiola at both Barcelona and Bayern Munich before the Spaniard left to join Manchester City. Alcantara completed his move from Munich to Liverpool on Friday for a reported fee of £27million.
Following the unveiling of Alcantara, Guardiola says he is confident his former charge will have no difficulties adapting to the English football.
"I am happy that Thiago comes to England because England is going to enjoy a really good player. Phil can play in that position, striker as well and wingers," he said ahead of City's clash with Wolves.
"No doubt of this, a player who played for Barcelona and Bayern Munich can play in the Premier League. Yeah, of course he can play."
