πŸ’« Premier League: Seven players register their first ever goals in the English top-flight

There's been an influx of top talent in the Premier League in time for the start of the 2020-21 season.

Matchday 2 was a record-breaking one, with 44 goals scored in ten matches at an average of 4.4 goals per game. It's the highest tally in the 20-team Premier League era. Reece James took 26 Premier League appearances to notch his first strike in the competition, but the goal was worth waiting for as he hit a stunner from range in Chelsea's 3-1 win at Brighton on the opening day a little over a week ago.

Leeds & Fulham shared seven goals in a cracker ultimately won by Marcelo Bielsa's team and that was preceded by a 5-2 win for Everton against West Brom at Goodison Park. The Toffees' new superstar signing James Rodriguez hit a brilliant low drive into the bottom corner to open his account for the club and there were also maiden EPL goals for Baggies duo Matheus Pereira and England U21 star Grady Diangana, West Brom's two flair players.

Donny van de Beek is Man United's marquee signing of the summer so far. The Dutchman, acquired from Ajax, neatly steered home what turned out to be a consolation goal for United in their 3-1 defeat to Crystal Palace. Sunday's thriller came in the shape of a 4-2 win for Leicester against Burnley. The Clarets' matches are usually low-scoring affairs but not this time around. Their Irish full-back Jimmy Dunne scored his first Premier League goal but opposing defender James Justin's maiden goal meant that he was all smiles and on the winning side.

The Premier League is back again for another helping of goals and glory this weekend with Brighton and Man United getting things underway at the Amex.
