Former Spurs midfielder Jermaine Jenas on being mesmerised by Phil Foden's performance

Former Tottenham Hotspur midfielder Jermaine Jenas was left impressed by Phil Foden's first touch during Manchester City's Champions League clash against Marseille on Tuesday night.

Ferran Torres, Ikay Gundogan and Raheem Sterling's goals sealed the deal as City went on to secure a 3-0 victory.

Jenas during his commentary was beside himself when Foden's ball came from the top and landed on his foot as he passed it on to teammate Oleksandr Zinchenko.

''I really hope there's a replay of that touch Phil Foden has just plucked out of the sky at some point!" Jenas said via BT Sport.

Former City midfielder Gareth Barry heaped praises on the 20-year-old Foden: "He's growing in stature, he's getting that belief that he's gonna be picked," Barry said.

"The more game time he gets he's gonna go strength to strength, probably playing in an unnatural position out wide today - if he's performing there today it just shows the ability he's got."

Fellow BT pundit Rio Ferdinand also shared his sentiments regarding the England international's impressive displays on the pitch.

"In the number 10 a bit like where Kevin De Bruyne plays, I don't think there's a question of his delivery," Ferdinand said.

"There's a swagger about him a confidence and other players giving him the ball, that's important for a young player."
