Europa League: Tottenham edged out in Belgium: Leicester, AC Milan record comfortable wins

Tottenham lost their first Europa League group match after going down 1-0 away to Belgian side Royal Antwerp on Thursday night.

Jose Mourinho made nine changes to the side that won 1-0 away to Burnley on Monday night in the  Premier League, with Hugo Lloris and Ben Davies the only players to start again.

The team could however not replicate their heroics in the Premier League last time out and were instead floored thanks to Lior Refaelov's 29th-minute goal.

Not even the second-half introduction of Harry Kane, Heung-min Son, Erik Lamela, and Lucas could lift Spurs, as they succumbed to their first defeat, which saw them drop to second in the group.

Elsewhere, AC  Milan continued with their red-hot form with a 3-0 thumping of Sparta Prague at the San Siro.

Brahim Diaz opened the scores for the Italian side in the 24th minute, and Zlatan Ibrahimovic missed the chance to double their lead after failing to convert from the spot 10 minutes later.

Rafael Leao and Diogo Dalot however ensured the win with a goal each in the second period which saw them stay top of their group.

In another match, Leicester City made it two wins out of two with a win away to Greek side AEK Athens.

The returning Jamie Vardy opened the scores from the spot after just 18 minutes, before Hamza Choudhury doubled their advantage in the 39th minute.

Muamer Tankovic pulled one back for the visitors four minutes into the second half, but it only proved to be a consolation as the Foxes held on for their second win of the campaign.
