FC Barcelona manager Ronald Koeman has omitted winger Ousmane Dembele from his squad that is set to take on Real Valladolid on Tuesday night.
Dembele had returned to full training this week but the Dutchman has opted against using him as he feels that it is too early to throw him straight into action according to Spanish publication Marca.
The Frenchman however is expected to return to action in the club’s next action when Barca takes on Eibar at Camp Nou on December 29.
Other absentees from the squad include defender Gerard Pique and midfielder Sergi Roberto who remain sidelined with long-term injuries; the other being youngster Ansu Fati who won't play until 2021.
Koeman will hope that the squad he will pick today gives him the needed points considering their sluggish start to the season where they were held to a 2-2 draw by Valencia in their last outing in Laliga.
