French giants Paris Saint Germain has rested star man Kylian Mbappe for their tie against RC Strasbourg on Wednesday.
PSG is embroiled in a tight Ligue 1 title race but it is believed that Thomas Tuchel wants to rest his star man despite a series of injuries to his side.
Neymar won't play until the new year after spraining his ankle in the 1-0 loss to Lyon 10 days ago, and now Mbappé - PSG's most potent attacking force this season with 11 goals and four assists - looks set to join the Brazilian in missing significant minutes before the turn of the year.
PSG who have dominated the French top-flight finds themselves in position three with 32 points; just one point below leaders Lille and Lyon with Marseille placed fourth with 28 points.
Mbappe has been struggling with an injury and made a cameo role in their scoreless draw against Lille in their last time out.
Speaking after the game, Tuchel said: "There's no logic," lamented the German tactician following Mbappé's 13-minute cameo against Lille. "He played without pain against Lorient, then he didn't train for three days because he had pain after the match. We don't know why he had no problems during the game but that's how it is."
In the absence of Mbappe, Moise Kean could be joined in attack by Angel Di Maria in the Wednesday tie.
