Arsenal technical director Edu Gaspar has hinted Lucas Torreira's loan at Atletico Madrid could be cut short.
Torreira signed for Madrid on a season-long loan in October after falling down the pecking order under Mikel Arteta. This came at a time when Arsenal were finalizing a deal on Thomas Partey with Ghanain moving to the Gunners while Torreira headed to the Spanish club.
Edu admits the club is 'concerned' with Madrid's handling of Torreira during his loan spell while indicating it could be cut short.
"The situation is very simple. Arsenal are concerned about Torreira, his happiness, that he plays and that he is well," he told AS.
"We want to know about him how he feels and, later, of course, know what Atletico thinks. For us, Lucas and his happiness is what's more important."
"If everyone is happy, we will continue like this, if Lucas is not well, we will look for a change because there are many teams that are calling me to ask about the player's situation."
As reported by the AS, the Uruguayan has received proposals to head out on loan to another club from the Serie side Lazio, Fiorentina, and Torino.
