Wolverhampton Wanderers are set to complete the signing of Real Sociedad striker Willian Jose on a loan deal until the end of the season.
Wolves are looking for a striker as a backup for Raul Jimenez who has been out of action for some time due to head surgery.
The news was broken by San Sebastian’s Cadena Ser station before being verified by separate reports in the UK with Wolves keen to sign the Brazilian permanently if he can impress the club during his six months’ spell.
Willian first moved to Laliga in 2013 when he joined Real Madrid but made just one first-team appearance for the club and spent most of his time at the club playing for the B team. He was to move to Real Zaragoza and Las Palmas where he bagged ten goals in those two spells but it is at La Real where he has made his name with 60 goals across four and a half campaigns.
He had been linked with a move to Atletico Madrid previously but a deal didn’t materialize with reports rife that La Real have already prepared for life without the player as they are keen to land striker Carlos Fernandez from La Liga rivals Sevilla.
