When will Thomas Tuchel be seen in the Chelsea dugout?

Thomas Tuchel is yet to be announced as Chelsea manager, but he could still be in charge of the Blues when they host Wolverhampton Wanderers on Wednesday night in the Premier League.

Frank Lampard was sacked as Chelsea boss on Monday morning after a string of poor results in the Premier League and a failure to get the best out of his expensive summer signings, Timo Werner and Kai Havertz.

First team coaches Anthony Barry and Joe Edwards took training on Monday, but the session has been moved to 6pm (UK Time) on Tuesday to allow for Tuchel’s arrival.

He will be clear to go straight into the new job as long as he tests negative for Covid-19, therefore avoiding an isolation period.

Tuchel has only been out of work for a month since leaving PSG after two-and-a-half years in charge in the French capital.

That spell saw him win two league titles, the Coupe de France, and finish runner-up in the Champions League last season. Previously he spent two years in charge of Borussia Dortmund after replacing Jurgen Klopp in the role.

The 47-year-old is fluent in English and has always been keen on a move to the Premier League so will be raring to go and look to rebuild Chelsea’s season.
