Manchester United striker Edinson Cavani has described the team’s third-choice keeper Lee Grant as the ‘spirit of the team’.
The 38-year-old is yet to appear for United in any competitive game but his work off the pitch has regularly been commended by his teammates with the former Stoke City man recently taking a role as a stand-in goalkeeping coach.
The Englishman went viral against Real Sociedad last week when he was filmed holding up the substitutes board for Juan Mata's introduction to the game.
A video of the incident was posted by the official Manchester United Instagram account, with Cavani writing in the comments section: "My respect, Lee. SPIRIT OF THE TEAM."
The keeper is below the pecking order behind David de Gea and Dean Henderson and with Sergio Romero future at the club yet to be decided, he has been used as the third-choice keeper and has regularly appeared on the club’s bench more so in Cup games.
Grant joined United from Stoke in 2018 and has previously represented Derby County, Burnley, Sheffield Wednesday and Oldham Athletic.
