Defender Junior Firpo is set to leave FC Barcelona in the summer with Serie A giants Napoli ready to take in the player.
The left-back isn’t in the plans of manager Ronald Koeman and according to Diario Sport, the club are looking for a replacement as well as a suitor who can fulfill Barcelona’s wishes.
The reports state that Napoli are willing to take the player on an initial loan deal and will turn the move into a permanent one if he can impress in his first season.
Barcelona however are not interested in such a deal as they want cash to boost their transfer kitty with a thorough revamp expected to happen in the coming summer; the defender’s market price set at €20m.
Apart from Napoli, there are thought to be several Premier League clubs interested in the player but the Italians remain the favorites to land his signature having tried to lure him last summer.
Born in the Dominican Republic, Junior joined Barcelona from Betis in the summer of 2019 and has represented Spain in junior levels.
Barça will try to sell Junior Firpo, Coutinho, Griezmann, Braithwaite, Neto, Umtiti, Matheus Fernandes and Pjanic to afford the signing of Haaland this summer. They will also listen to offers for Lenglet, but won't actively try to sell him.— Barça Universal (@BarcaUniversal) March 12, 2021
