Arsenal manager Mikel Arteta has provided an update on the future of Real Madrid loanee Martin Odegaard.
Odegaard has received praise from the Arsenal fans since moving to the club in January and according to Arteta, the player is happy at the Emirates as they seek to develop him further.
“I speak with him every day. I see his face, his body language and he seems really happy right nowhere. Our contract with him is until the end of the season. What we have to do is try to make him perform, develop and be as happy as he can be,” Arteta is quoted by The Metro.
It is yet another clear indication that Arsenal wants to keep the player for a longer time at The Emirates with Real Madrid said to be willing to let the player leave on a permanent basis.
Odegaard has made nine Premier League appearances so far for the North London side and played the full 90 minutes in the 3-0 loss to Liverpool FC on Saturday night.
The 22-year-old has so far scored two goals in all competitions for Arsenal this season and will hope to dazzle when his side takes on Slavia Prague in the Europa League quarter-finals on Thursday night.
