Sheffield United have been handed a massive injury blow with captain Billy Sharp set to be on the sidelines for the remainder of the season after an operation.
Sharp has been Sheffield's last three matches with a thigh injury and now has undergone surgery that will see him miss the rest of the season.
"Always gutting to miss games so to be ruled out for the remainder of the season hurts," he wrote on his Instagram account.
"Sadly the injury was worse than I'd hoped but the operation went well and will be back stronger next season to get my 250th goal in front of a packed Bramall Lane."
The 35-year-old has scored 98 goals for Sheffield since rejoining them in 2015 for a third spell.
