AC Milan striker Zlatan Ibrahimovic is set to sign a new one-year contract extension, The Athletic reports.
Ibrahimovic's current deal is set to expire at the end of this season and he is expected to extend his stay by one year. The Swede returned to Milan on a free transfer from LA Galaxy in December 2019 where he signed an initial six-month contract.
He made an instant impact before he was handed a one-year deal last year in August.
The 39-year-old has netted 15 goals in 16 league starts this season.
Milan boss Stefano Pioli had already confirmed that the club were discussing renewing Ibrahimovic’s contract.
"Zlatan is happy with us and I think the best thing about this team is that the players are happy," he said.
"We are with a huge club, everyone wants to do well and I think it’s right that he continues playing, and that he does it with us."
"He is an athlete who is highly motivated, is scrupulous in the way he looks after his body with everything from diet to recovery. He’s tired, but you don’t stay at this level for this long without looking after yourself."
Ibrah is set to turn 40 in October.
