New AS Roma manager Jose Mourinho is planning to raid former employers Tottenham Hotspur for the services of defender Eric Dier and midfielder Pierre-Emile Hojbjerg.
According to Italian publication Corriere dello Sport, Mourinho has already handed his bosses a list of players he wants at the club with the Spurs duo believed to be his main targets.
Mourinho, who was the shock appointment as Roma's new boss just weeks after his recent sacking by Tottenham with the Portuguese having told the club's sporting director Tiago Pinto that he is ready to build a strong and aggressive side made up of players from England.
Dier is viewed as a low-cost option by Roma and after much time playing in the heart of defence under Mourinho in north London could prove invaluable. He is also used to living abroad, having come through the youth ranks at Sporting Lisbon.
25-year-old Hojbjerg is regarded as a good purchase due to his physical and technical ability but his fee might scare away the Romans with the club linked with a move for Man United’s Juan Mata too.
Mourinho will return to Italy after 11 years away with a huge motivation to usurp his former club Inter Milan and managerial rival Antonio Conte in the Serie A.
