🎭 Six standout weekend results from around Europe & an outstanding display by Victor Osimhen

PSG continues to falter in their pursuit of the Ligue 1 crown and it's advantage Atlético Madrid in an enthralling LaLiga title race.

Here's a recap of the weekend's most eye-catching results.

😿 Leicester 2-4 Newcastle

Leicester will feel as though it's happening again. Last season they let a Champions League place slip away from them in the dying stages of the campaign, and a shock 2-4 reverse against Newcastle on Friday means that their fourth place is in immediate jeopardy. A crumb of consolation for Brendan Rodgers, though, comes in the form of losses for both West Ham and Spurs in the same weekend.

🗡 Man City 1-2 Chelsea

Kun Agüero probably didn't sleep very well on Saturday night after his botched panenka penalty which would have given City a 2-0 lead at the break against the Blues, and most likely secured the title. Be it as it may, and VAR controversy aside, Chelsea has now had City's number in each of the last two meetings between the sides. The next head-to-head happens to be in the Champions League final on May 29th.

🐝 Dortmund 3-2 Leipzig

Perhaps not surprisingly, Bayern has been crowned champions of Germany once more after Leipzig fell to Dortmund. More pressingly, though, it means that BVB is right back in the hunt for a Champions League place after Julain Nagelsmann's visitors couldn't live with Jadon Sancho's pace and directness. Dortmund did it with Erling Haaland watching on from the stands, which is a good sign too.

😳 Rennes 1-1 PSG

It's been a bad couple of weeks for Mauricio Pochettino and PSG, having been dumped out of the Champions League and now two games away from losing their Ligue 1 crown. Lille's commanding win at Lens means that they're two wins away from becoming French champions for the first time since 2011.

🍕 Juventus 0-3 Milan

It's a result that sends shockwaves through Italy and the entire football world. Not only has Juventus been deposed as champions, but they're also now not even certain of a finish in the Champions League places after a demoralising defeat on home turf.

The race for fourth is as tight as it's ever been, and one heavyweight side out of Milan, Napoli and Juventus will miss out. With three games left, there are plenty of twists and turns still to unfold.

🥘 Real Madrid 2-2 Sevilla

When Casemiro hit his shot inches wide of the post in the final minute of added time with the score locked at 2-2, his expression was that of a man who sensed the title might be slipping away from Los Blancos. This was a cracking match between two top sides that contained VAR controversy and penalty shouts for both sides in the same move.

A 0-0 draw between Barcelona and Atlético Madrid on Saturday certainly puts Atléti in the driving seat for the title with three games remaining.

🌍 African star of the weekend

Napoli and Nigeria striker Victor Osimhen is on fire. The 22-year-old bagged a brace and an assist in his side's 4-1 win at Spezia, taking his tally to 10 Serie A goals in 13 starts this term, and he's now one of the key men for Gennaro Gattuso's side and their quest for a top four finish.

Sunday turned out to be a topsy-turvy evening and there's almost certainly more drama in store across Europe as the season reaches its climax later this month.
