Xhaka to Roma edges closer & closer

Mourinho has praised Xhaka as a 'leader,' and the two might be reunited, with Mikel Arteta's side apparently eyeing Wolves' Ruben Neves as a possible substitute.

Mikel Arteta's side may want to replace him with Ruben Neves, a midfielder from Wolves, who will expect at least £40 million for their midfielder. Since joining the Gunners from Borussia Monchengladbach in 2016, Xhaka has established himself as a regular under Arsene Wenger, Unai Emery, and current manager Mikel Arteta.

This season, the 28-year-old was a staple in midfield for Arteta, also stepping in at left-back while Kierney was sidelined.

According to Football London, he is close to agreeing a permanent deal to Roma for next season. Xhaka is said to be content in North London, but is enticed by the potential of working under Mourinho.
