Aston Villa is preparing to make a second improved bid for Arsenal midfielder Emile Smith Rowe.
Villa had tabled a £25m bid for the Englishman early in the month but it was rejected by Arsenal as they are confident that the player will sign a new deal with them.
The Telegraph however reports that the Dean Smith side is determined to get the player after luring Emiliano Martinez from The Emirates last summer.
Villa reportedly wants Smith Rowe for their left-hand side, playing alongside Ollie Watkins and Emi Buendia ahead of Jack Grealish at 10 with the possibility of playing week in week out said to be an enticing project for the Arsenal academy graduate.
Arsenal views a new deal for Smith as a priority for the executive team this summer and talks are ongoing but the player wants to be assured of his place in the team something that Mikel Arteta has failed to provide.
Last week, James Benge of CBS Sports reported that Real Madrid also expressed an interest in Smith Rowe earlier in the summer, when Arsenal was negotiating to bring back Martin Odegaard a deal which the Gunners rejected.
