Aston Villa wants to hand captain Jack Grealish a new deal as they try to keep their player from Manchester City grasp.
Grealish who is having a brilliant campaign at Euro 2020 has strongly been linked with a move to City but while Villa is aware that they can't stand in his way, they want to add him a new deal so that they can reap well from the player should he be sold.
The Telegraph reports that Villa has confidence their captain will sign a new, big-money contract to commit his future to the Villa Park club after providing an assist for England's second goal against Germany; a result that saw them storm into the quarterfinal of the competition.
English media reports have suggested that City could make an offer that breaks the British transfer record to secure Grealish this summer.
Apart from Grealish, City is said to be interested in Harry Kane as they seek to find a replacement for Sergio Aguero who has since left for Barcelona.
