Liverpool set to let Shaqiri leave for free

Liverpool will allow winger Xherdan Shaqiri to leave the club for free this summer.

Shaqiri's future at the club has been a subject of speculation since last summer and with no guarantees of ore playing time, the player has requested the club to allow him to leave.

Corriere Dello Sport says Shaqiri is the subject of interest from Serie A outfit Lazio, though the Italian side are running particularly low on funds at the moment.

The report states that Shaqiri has asked Jurgen Klopp to waive their desire for a transfer fee and allow him to leave on a free as a token of goodwill with the club ready to grant him his wish.

Lazio has failed to muster up transfer funds of their own after failing to offload 26-year-old striker Joaquin Correa, who has been touted with a move to one of two Premier League clubs in either Everton or Leicester City.

Apart from Lazio, the player has been linked with a move to the Bundesliga where his teammate Divock Origi is believed to be headed too.
