Liverpool are considering purchasing Monaco defensive midfielder Aurelien Tchouameni.
The Reds are in the market for another midfielder after the departure of Gini Wijnaldum and according to Corriere dello Sport, as cited by LFC Transfer Room, Liverpool will go for Tchouameni.
Monaco reportedly values Tchouameni at £25.5 million and according to the publication, the Reds could be willing to meet the aforementioned fee.
Tchouameni whose contract expires in June 2024 made 36 appearances in Ligue 1 last season and since he is still 21 years old, it is believed that he can still develop further.
Liverpool has one natural defensive midfielder in Fabinho and Klopp wants to add another player in that position so as to free other midfielders in their natural roles.
