Miralem Pjanić joins Beşiktaş on season-long loan

Barcelona revealed late Thursday night that Miralem Pjanic would be loaned to Turkish Süper Lig giants Besiktas, for the season.

The midfielder has now found a home in Turkey after failing to find a club in Europe's top five leagues before the transfer market closed.

Beşiktaş will pay €2.7 million of Pjanic's earnings, according to Fabrizio Romano, a long cry from his rumored €8 million annual income.

Pjanic has failed to live up to the hype since joining Barcelona from Juventus, making just 30 appearances for the Blaugrana while falling down the pecking order under Ronald Koeman.

His numbers

Pjanic previously played for Olympique Lyon in France, Roma in Italy, and Juventus in Italy.

He has helped Juventus win the Italian Cup twice, and Barcelona lifted the Spanish Cup last season with him on the team.

The Bosnian joined Barcelona in 2020, and his contract with the club runs until 2024. He has 552 club appearances under his belt and has 73 goals and 108 assists.

He also represented Bosnia and Herzegovina at the international level, scoring 15 goals in 101 appearances.
