After a great start to life at the Emirates, Arsenal manager Mikel Arteta has praised Takehiro Tomiyasu as "amazing."
Since his deadline-day transfer from Bologna, the Japanese defender has made the right-back position his own, starting from the start in 1-0 triumphs against Norwich City and Burnley and impressing with his aerial skills and work-rate.
For the visit of Tottenham Hotspur on Sunday, Tomiyasu is expected to keep his spot in the defense, and Arteta believes the 22-year-old has been a valuable addition to the Emirates ranks.
Speaking to the media ahead of the North London derby, Arteta said: "I am impressed by the way he has settled and the way he has gained everybody's appreciation. He had no time to prepare against Norwich and then a proper Premier League game against Burnley - I think he was exceptional."
During his pre-match press conference, the Arsenal manager heaped praise on Granit Xhaka, who is poised to return from a three-game suspension on Sunday.
The Gunners host Spurs to the Emirates Stadium after winning their last three games in all competitions, most notably defeating AFC Wimbledon 3-0 in an EFL Cup match on Wednesday.
