Frenkie de Jong might sit out of action for Barcelona in the coming games after picking an injury in their 2-1 loss to arch-rivals Real Madrid in the El Clasico on Sunday.
The Dutchman who has been one of the best performers for the Ronald Koeman side was replaced in the 77th minute as he pulled up following a challenge in midfield; his place taken by Sergi Roberto.
Diario Sport now reveals that the former Ajax man has been struggling with a persistent hamstring injury during a busy period of games in recent weeks but opted to play through the pain against Real Madrid.
The player is set to miss the club's midweek trip to face Rayo Vallecano, with a further update on his condition expected in the coming days.
