REVEALED: Haaland turned down a big-money move to Man United for Borussia Dortmund

Borussia Dortmund CEO Hans-Joachim Watzke has reveead that Man United provided more money than Dortmund for Erling Haaland before his move to the Bundesliga.

Haaland joined the German giants from Austrian outfit RB Salzburg for £17m in January 2020 at a time when there were speculations that he was headed to Manchester United.

In an interview with Sport1, Watzke said: "The offer from Manchester United was better. However, Mino Raiola realized that Erling is better off with us."

The decision seemed to have been the right one as the 21-year-old has gone on to become one of the best strikers in the world, scoring 70 goals in just 69 appearances for Dortmund.

The move though seems not to have bothered United who are said to be one of the favorite teams to land the Norwegian in the coming summer.

A chunk of top clubs in Europe are preparing to take in the player who will have a release clause of £64m then.
