Four Chelsea players miss training ahead of Champions League clash

Romelu Lukaku, Timo Werner, Mateo Kovacic, and Mason Mount all missed training as the Blues began their Monday session ahead of Tuesday’s Champions League clash against Malmo.

Lukaku, Werner, and Kovacic were all expected to train with the team, having missed last weekend's Premier League clash at Newcastle.

The two strikers picked injuries in the Blues' win over the Swedish club a fortnight ago, and are not expected to feature until at least after the international break.

Kovacic suffered a hamstring injury just before the Newcastle match, while Mount fell ill on the eve of Saturday’s game.

Christian Pulisic has also returned to training, even though he won't be ready for Tuesday's match.

"Christian is looking forward to the Burnley match. If everything goes right, he should be in the squad then and ready to play,"

Chelsea are second in their group on six points after three games, three behind leaders Juventus.
