Liverpool's new defender Ibrahima Konate wants to win the Premier League title with the club.
The Frenchman arrived at Anfield in the summer from RB Leipzig and has slowly taken his place in the team where he has been the preferred partner of Virgil van Dijk at center back.
While he is still just 22, the player wants to help the Reds wrestle the title back from Man City in his first time of asking.
“Who doesn’t have this ambition to win the Premier League? But for now, I think we need to be focused game by game," the player is quoted by the club's official portal.
Konate went ahead to reveal his ambitions of representing the French national team and believes with hard work at his club, he will achieve that soon.
“If you are good for the club you will go to the national team, especially if you are with a big team in Europe. I am focused on the club and I need to play more. I need to improve every day," he added.
Liverpool is four points behind league leaders Chelsea and remains one of the favorites to lift the title despite their injury worries ahead of this weekend's tie against Arsenal.
