👋🏽 Check these managers who lost jobs this season

Heads have really rolled this term. Manchester United’s Ole Gunnar Solskjaer became the latest manager to lose his job this season. Let’s take a look at five managers who became unemployed in 2021/22.

Solskjaer’s sacking was somewhat a matter of when rather than if. The Norwegian’s futures looked bleak after early-season shock defeats to the likes of Young Boys, West Ham, Aston Villa, and Leicester City.

Added defeats to Liverpool and Manchester City then marked points of no return until the final nail in the coffin of Ole’s reign came in the 4-1 defeat to lowly Watford.

Before Solskjaer, the football community had still not fully processed the shock of Nuno Espirito’s cruel dismissal from Tottenham Hotspur.

Nuno’s sacking marked one of the shortest managerial spells in the topflight. He spent just 124 days with the Lillywhites.

Still in England, Newcastle United sacked Steve Bruce very soon after the club became one of the richest clubs in the world after getting taken over by a Saudi-Arabian consortium.

Over in Spain, Ronaldo Koeman was as doomed as Ole Gunnar Solskjær. The Dutchman was responsible for Barcelona’s worst-ever starts to a season since 1987/88.
