Manchester United interim manager Ralf Rangnick yesterday revealed that Anthony Martial refused to be included in the squad for Saturday's Premier League clash with Aston Villa, a statement which has now been countered by the player.
Martial has not featured in the Premier League since a two-minute cameo against Arsenal on December 2, and Rangnick revealed that the striker was adamant about not playing at Villa Park.
What Ralf said:
"He didn't want to be in the squad. He would have been in the squad normally but he didn't want to and that was the reason why he didn't travel with us yesterday."
The striker posted on his Instagram Story: "I will never refuse to play a match for Man United. I've been here for 7 years and I never disrespected and never will disrespect the club and the Fans."
The 26-year-old has scored just once in ten appearances across all competitions in the 2021-22 season, and Sevilla are reportedly close to abandoning their pursuit of the former Monaco starlet.
So, who is lying?
