Mohamed Salah and Sadio Mane of Liverpool will face off in the last round of CAF World Cup qualifying this year when Egypt and Senegal meet in a two-legged contest for a place in Qatar later this year.
This means that one of the Reds' players will miss out on a place in the global extravaganza, which will be held during the March international window.
The draw took place in Douala, Cameroon, the city hosting the Africa Cup of Nations.
Salah helped Egypt qualify for the 2018 World Cup in Russia for the first time since 1990, yet the 29-year-old unfortunately suffered an injury in that year's Champions League final and was not entirely fit as his side crashed out early, losing all three group games.
Mane also competed in Russia that year, starting three times and scoring in a 2-2 draw with Japan, however, his side was ousted at the group stage owing to their weaker fair play record – the first time the tiebreak had ever been used to separate teams with similar records after three games.
