🚨 Senegal score THREE late goals to beat Burkina Faso and roar into AFCON Final

Senegal became the first team to book a place in the Africa Cup of Nations final after three late goals earned them a 3-1 win over Burkina Faso.

After a competitive first-half that ended with no goals, Abdou Diallo gave the Lions of the Teranga the lead with 20 minutes to go, before two more strikes from Idriss Gueye and Sadio Mane wrapped up the win.

Ibrahim Blati Toure scored the consolation for Burkina Faso.

The match got off to a lively start as both teams went all out in search of the first goal.

The match was however paused after just four minutes to allow for Nampalys Mendy's treatment following a collision but returned after a few minutes out.

Famara Diedhiou nearly got in a one-on-one with the goalkeeper in the 12th minute after a defence-splitting pass from Sadio Mane (Senegal), but one of the defenders made3 a clearance to snuff out the chance.

Bertrand Traore then came close to giving Burkina Faso the lead when he received a neat pass on the edge of the box and produced a low drive directed towards the middle of the goal only for the goalie to make a decent save.

Burkina Faso were then forced to make a change just after the half-hour mark as their goalkeeper, Herve Koffi, picked up an injury as he made a high leap and clashed with a Senegalese player.

The referee then awarded Senegal a penalty, but after a long VAR check though, the referee reversed his decision to the shock of the Senegalese players.

Edouard Mendy was then forced to make a fine save to thwart Hassane Bande's effort after the forward found some space inside the box to strike.

Senegal were then awarded a penalty deep into added time when a defender seemed to be blocking a shot with his arm, but after another VAR check, the referee reversed his decision.

The breakthrough finally arrived in the 70th minute as  Diallo fired a rebound into the bottom left corner after the ball broke to him in the box.

Senegal knocked at the door again in the 75th minute as Mane released a great ball, but Pape Gueye's close-range header went a whisker wide of the right post.

It was in the back of the net a minute later though as Gueye scored a simple goal after he was found by a killer pass inside the box.

Ibrahim Blati Toure then pulled one back for Burkina Faso with less than 10 minutes to go to set a tense finish to the match.

All that quickly changed though as Sadio Mane scored past Farid Ouedraogo, who was caught way off his line.

There was no chance Aliou Cisse's men could lose the lead, and they went on to win the match and make the final for the second time in a row.
