Arsenal manager Mikel Arteta has backed defender Ben White to be recalled to the England national team.
England is set to have two friendly games against Switzerland and Ivory Coast later this month with manager Gareth Southgate set to name his squad for the ties on Thursday.
White has formed a formidable partnership at the club level with Gabriel Magalhães and according to Arteta, he deserves to be rewarded with a call up to the national team.
“We are really happy with his performances, how he has adapted, what he brings to the team certainly. Hopefully, he can get rewarded, because the way he trains he looks at himself and the performance that he is having is certainly raising the attention of a lot of people," Arteta said on Tuesday.

White was part of England's squad for Euro 2020 last summer after being called up to replaced the injured Trent Alexander-Arnold but has not been part of the setup since.
He joined the North London side in the summer for £50million from Brighton and despite earlier questions about his price tag, he has gone to be an important player for Arsenal as they fight for Champions League football next season.
