Leicester City are pursuing RB Salzburg striker Chukwubuike ‘Junior’ Adamu to boost their striking options in the coming season.
The 20-year-old has been impressive with the Austrians after spending the second half of last season on loan with Swiss outfit FC St. Gallen.
Most people knew Adamu when he scored against Bayern Munich in the Champions League last month in their 1-1 first-leg draw. The player has contributed seven goals and three assists in 35 appearances in all competitions this season.
Leicester boss Brendan Rodgers is said to be worried over the fitness levels of Jamie Vardy and wants a replacement as he balances between the African duo of Iheanacho and Patson Daka who have been understudies to the Englishman.
Apart from the Foxes, Adamu has been linked with a move to Manchester City, Monaco, Southampton, Marseille, and a number of Bundesliga sides.
The player's stakes have risen since making his international debut with Austria in November.
