Thomas Lemar has defender Atletico Madrid's style of play ahead of their UEFA Champions League clash with Manchester City.
Following their 1-0 defeat to Manchester City last week, Atlético Madrid faces the English champions again this Wednesday night in the return leg and Lemar spoke to AFP about Diego Simeone’s 'defensive style'.
“I have nothing to say to [critics]. Just look at the statistics since the coach arrived. Maybe it’s not the prettiest to watch, but it’s efficient. Atlético wins, and that’s what’s important.

“We won’t lie, we do even scare ourselves from time to time. Even if we know we can change the order of the match at any moment, we would have preferred not to scare ourselves in certain matches. And there has been a decent amount," the Frenchman said.
A win against Manchester City on Wednesday is not far-fetched as the Spanish side missed a lot of chances in the first leg and a win on aggregate will see them sail to the semifinals of the competition.
