Crystal Palace have entered the race to sign Manchester United midfielder Andreas Pereira.
Pereira is currently on loan at Flamengo and will make his final appearance for the club this week before returning to United for pre-season preparations.
According to reports, newbies Fulham had agreed on a fee with United over his sale and were allowed to discuss personal terms with the midfielder’s entourage but Palace is set to hijack the deal as they look to boost their options in the middle of the park.
According to Brazilian publication FogaoNET, Palace is interested in Pereira with the tabloid also claiming that the midfielder who has just one year remaining on his deal at United, could join Lyon if Lucas Paqueta departs.
Andreas Pereira on his future: “I’m not the one who decides - it’s up to Man United. I would like to stay at Flamengo, but it's not in my hands”, tells @simpraisa. 🔴🇧🇷 #MUFC— Fabrizio Romano (@FabrizioRomano) June 30, 2022
“I'll see what's best for me and the club. I love Flamengo. We will soon speak and decide”.
Perreira is considered a surplus to requirements in the team with new boss Erik ten Hag making it clear that he wants Frenkie de Jong in the team with negotiations on the player set to be wrapped this week.
